Sinbad: The 5th Voyage

I've had the distinct honor of being picked as the one who will animate a stop motion animated scene in the film 'Sinbad The 5th Voyage'. As an animator who has seen the work of Ray Harryhausen as nothing less than miraculous for all of my 43 years, I can only hope to make a meager - if not foolish attempt, to fit my tiny feet into those giant shoes.

We stop motion animators refer to him as 'Uncle Ray' for very good reasons... he is family and he will always be larger than us, for all he has taught, inspired and mastered. I will do my best.

Woha. This is something you shouldn't joke about - and as far as I know you, you don't make (bad) jokes about this topic.

Congratulations here too... wow. That's impressive. I'll need some time off now. But anyway. Congratulations.

But you GOTTA joke about this stuff... otherwise you'll have a heart-attack from the pressure to get it right.

We get into the business of doing this stuff because it's fun to do. If I wanted pressure and stress more than I have, I would go work for McDonald's. :)

Thanks man, I'm pretty dumbfounded by it myself. There were a number of odd coincidences that came together at just the right time that lead to it. The animation that I had done most recently just fit the bill for what they're looking for. I am stoked! :)
